What Does FTTP Mean?
FTTP – Fibre To The Premises
FTTP is the reticulation method that internet service providers and communication servicers supply their customers and properties.
Using a network of pit and pipe systems the fibre optic cable or NBN is run through a NBN distribution network to a Local Network and finally the premises.
FTTP is just a small part of the NBN structure and there are several other delivery methods that use the same acronym:
- FTTN – Fibre To The Node
- FTTC – Fibre To The Curb
- FTTH – Fibre To The Home
