Who are we?
Comm Design is a NBN trained designer that has designed 1000s of new NBN (and Telstra) connections. Ranging from small 2 lot subivisions to 200 lot aged care villages
NBN Applications - New Subdivisions
If you are building a new residential or commercial development, you need to apply for access to the nbn network for your premises.
Approved NBN Designs
Before the NBN network can be installed, your development’s design and build must meet all the requirements and standards set by the NBN – it’s a developer’s responsibility to meet these standards.
Early Planning
Small development, such as a 2 lot subdivisions, require 3 months notice, to help ensure the network can be connected in time for new residents. For all other developments, allow a minimum of six months’ notice before an active nbn connection is required.
Check Eligibility
I will complete an eligibility check and submit an application for a detailed assessment. Here I will submit a service plan or master development plan which details how you will install nbn infrastructure (Lead-in Conduits (LIC), pit and pipes, or pathways).

NBN Application & Design
The developer or builder is responsible to make sure that the communication underground reticulation meets all the current nbn and government standards. Nbn need to inspect the installation before certifying and accepting the new connection and installation.
As a certified designer I ensure that this meets the requirements.
A certified designer will provide you all the information and plans to ensure you meet the current standards.
Relocating or Modify NBN/ Telstra Infrastructure
NBN or Telstra assets or infrastructure may occasionally need to be altered, relocated, removed or protected.
It’s important to note that by law, only authorised contractors may work on their assets and infrastructure.
his means that any interference, including unauthorised tampering or modifications, may result in legal action.
This application is for residents, property owners, developers, and local governments
There are a range of options that may or may not be required but I will arrange the feasibility and assessments, so that you achieve your outcomes.

About Comm Design
My name is Lee Young and I’m the founder of Comm Design.
I started off my career in the UK as a Cable Jointer and eventually relocated my family to Australia where we settled on the East coast of Australia, Ballina. I’m a surfing addict and love a good cup of coffee (some would say I’m a coffee snob!). I have always enjoyed my career path which has taken a few turns in the past and so this has lead me to Designing communication networks.
Having been involved in the design and installation of 1000s of underground reticulation projects all over the world and a passion for new technologies gives me the job satisfaction and opportunity to do something I enjoy and that I’m good at.
